HERBIE'S THEN AND NOW
Herbie's has been a part of the Keys dining scene since the 1940's making it the oldest continually operated restaurant in Marathon! Originally named Maggie's Chowder House, it operated until the Konrath family purchased it in the 1950s, and was renamed Fishnet's Bar and Chowder House. In 1963 the small but mighty restaurant began it's life as Herbie's. In 2014, the Demaras family brought their passion for scratch cooking, craft beer, smoked meats, and seafood to Herbie’s, carrying on its long tradition of fresh flavors.
FAST-FORWARD TO 2023
In 2023, Herbie’s began a new chapter under the ownership of Adrian Jessome, who continues to honor its legacy while bringing fresh energy to the Marathon dining scene. With the support of Christina and Michael McKenna in daily operations, together the team carries on the tradition of scratch-made cooking, craft beer, seafood, smoked meats, and something for everyone—keeping the spirit of Herbie’s alive for locals and visitors alike.
